Senior Project Architect

AECOM is seeking a creative highly talented Senior Project Architect. This position is to be based in Columbus OH. Were looking for a leader of design & technical excellence. One who is driven by a passion for delivering quality work mentoring staff and leading multi-disciplinary teams.

As a Senior Project Architect with recognized technical expertise and experience in demanding design driven projects you will lead interdisciplinary teams. Leveraging your industry experience and technical acumen you will drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design documentation and construction.

You are a team leader and will have the opportunity to lead not only from a project perspective but from a practice and culture standpoint. The right person will be an integral part of our architecture practice in the region.

US West Buildings Places has a vast market spread and geography providing opportunities across a wide range of project typologies including Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Commercial Aerospace Higher Education Industrial and Process Transportation Aviation Sports and Federal market sectors across the western United States and beyond. As a dynamic team of Architects Planners and Engineers we strive to incorporate beauty sustainability resiliency and innovation in our projects.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• In partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager you will lead a team or multiple teams in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects

• Supporting the pursuit of exciting new projects

• Prepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools

• Develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problem.

• Oversee the work of more junior designers and architects

• Manage client team and project coordination including full documentation coordination with structural MEP lighting AV landscape and civil consultant.

• Support communication between project team clients vendors contractors consultants and building and permitting officials

• Provide quality control reviews of projects in the studio.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Architecture plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

• Licensed as a registered architect   

 Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD Revit Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop and PowerPoint

• Working knowledge of building codes standards building construction and building structures

• Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC

• Ability to thrive in a collaborative open office work environment

• Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
