About the Role
As the Data Governance Lead youll manage a team of Data Governance and Data Quality Analysts working closely with business data owners to define standards catalogue critical data assets and embed governance practices across the organisation. Youll play a pivotal role in enabling high-quality insights that support person-centred strategies and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support strategic data initiatives and ensure compliance with governance frameworks
- Drive adoption of DevOps practices to manage delivery and performance
- Monitor and improve data quality across systems and processes
- Oversee data cataloguing lineage and lifecycle management
- Collaborate with business units to define and document data standards
- Lead and mentor a team of governance and quality analysts
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- NQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent in data management
- Proven experience in developing and adopting governance frameworks
- 3 years exposure in data analytics & governance requirements related to this
- 3 years experience in governance or information management
- Strong background in adoption of Devops & Security frameworks
- Strong background in business process modelling data lifecycle and master data management
- Proven experience leading large-scale data projects from scoping to delivery
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science or related field
- Exposure to regulated industries
Skills & Attributes
- Advanced MS Office proficiency especially Excel
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Organised solution-focused and collaborative
- Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
