What You Will Do:

This Repair Design Engineer (RDE) position is in the Cases & CompositesGroup within the Aftermarket Services Engineering (ASE) commercial jet engine repair group. The RDE is responsible for the design of repairs for gas turbine engine parts including development of the repair concept writing of the repair obtaining task approvals and coordination with the manufacturing organization that performs the repair. Establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe durable and meet the quality requirements of the OEM parts.
Research how damage affects gas turbine engine component operation and develop engineering-based solutions which will return damaged parts back to service.
Create technical documents that provide the manufacturing organization the engineering requirements for repairs.
Interface with commercial engine program managers to secure priorities and understand how the repair affects the engine fleet.
Support the customer in the resolution of field supportability issues.
Ensure repair tasks are completed to schedule and on budget.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Aerospace or Materials Engineering
Minimum 2 years of mechanical design or manufacturing engineering experience is required.
US Citizenship required due to government contracts
Experience in the use of Unigraphics/NX or similar CAD application is required.
Exposure to cost and schedule management or team leadership is desired.
Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining plating plasma spray welding or brazing is also desired.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
