Description
Centurion is proud to be the provider ofcomprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections.We are currently seeking a Per Diem Dental Assistantto join our teamat Lawrence Correctional CenterinSumner Illinois.
Hourly salary of $24/hour after 6 month introductory period
Shift: PRN
The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Essential duties include the following:
- Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
- Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
- Operating radiographic equipment
- Administrative tasks as needed
Shift: PRN
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
- Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate one must be obtained in the first year of employment
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
- Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance to include drug screen and criminal background check
