Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Health is currently seeking an IT Asset Management Technician to join our Office of Information Management. This role is responsible for coordinating and fulfilling hardware and software requests managing procurement and deployment activities and ensuring accurate documentation of all assets in ServiceNow. The specialist will assist with equipment staging recovery and decommissioning as well as conduct regular inventory checks to maintain data accuracy and compliance with VDH VITA and vendor licensing requirements. Additionally this position plays a key role in supporting service requests maintaining the central storeroom and providing audit-ready asset records.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience supporting IT asset lifecycle activities including deployment tracking recovery and decommissioning of hardware and software.
Ability to accurately maintain asset records and inventory data using asset management platforms such as ServiceNow.
Familiarity with VITA policies and procedures related to IT asset handling and compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook Excel and Teams for communication documentation and reporting.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage storerooms track inventory levels and prepare equipment for deployment.
Ability to fulfill hardware and software requests in a timely manner while adhering to service level agreements (SLAs).
Knowledge of PC refresh processes including imaging staging deployment and return of devices.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry labeling and documentation of IT assets.
Ability to work collaboratively with IT staff vendors and end-users to support asset-related needs across multiple locations.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for documenting procedures and interacting with stakeholders.
