The Student Recruiter is a leader in employment inclusion and equity at the City of Edmonton. This role is also responsible for ensuring that an inclusion lens is applied to the Student and Youth outreach and employment opportunities and throughout the recruitment cycle to ensure that Student and Youth opportunities are available to diverse youth. The consultant also represents the City of Edmonton at public events career fairs and other campus recruitment activities promoting the City of Edmontons reputation as an employer of choice for diverse candidates.
What will you do
- Execute the full life cycle recruitment process for all student and youth work experience programs
- Apply an inclusion lens throughout the recruitment cycle implementing best practices to attract diverse candidates and identifying opportunities to remove barriers in the recruitment process
- Enhancing awareness of City initiatives and career opportunities by coordinating and participating in career fairs hiring events and providing presentations
- Developing relationships with community partners and post-secondary institutions
- Proposing and developing new talent acquisition programs for Students and Youth
- Manage varied projects and events by balancing corporate and community perspectives and needs
- Demonstrating effective communication consultation and presentation skills and political acumen in engaging with diverse internal and external community partners
- Facilitating engagement activities for students while employed at the City of Edmonton. This includes conducting orientation sessions and supporting the organization of the Citys annual student conference
- Coordinate funding application processes and regularly explore new funding opportunities
