More about the role

As a Sourcing Operations Associate you will be the operational backbone of the Sourcing team - coordinating daily supplier operations ensuring pricing and availability accuracy supporting reconciliations and driving process improvements across the sourcing workflow.

Youll work closely with Category Managers Finance Logistics Inventory and Fulfilment to ensure that data is accurate Category Managers and their partners adhere to agreed terms and the supply chain runs smoothly every day. You will also collaborate to lead the execution of special projects that improve margins efficiency and supplier performance.

You will act almost like a product manager for the sourcing workflow spotting issues early improving processes bringing clarity to scattered information ensuring follow-through across teams and helping the Sourcing Lead and Category Managers stay accountable to plans and KPIs.

Key responsibilities

Daily sourcing operations

You will:

• Collaborate with Sourcing Category Managers in executing category plans and day-to-day sourcing activities
  
• Collaborate on the management of prices cost changes and availability data across internal systems.
  
• Ensure product supplier and pricing information is always accurate on the Inventory Management System (IMS).
  
• Track supplier performance (deliveries pricing adherence timing fulfilment consistency) and flag issues quickly.
  
• Monitor daily stock gaps and collaborate with Category Managers to ensure fast resolution.
  
• Analyse pricing trends and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  

Finance support & reconciliation

You will:

• Liaise closely with the Finance and Inventory teams for daily/weekly reconciliation of:
  
  • Supplier invoices
    
  • Purchase orders
    
  • Cost discrepancies
    
  • Supplier credits or returns
    
• Verify COGS and pricing entries in the IMS to prevent errors that affect margins.
  
• Identify data inconsistencies early and work with both Finance and Sourcing to correct them.
  

Inventory & data accuracy

You will:

• Work with Inventory team to validate physical stock against system stock when discrepancies arise.
  
• Ensure the IMS always reflects the latest supplier details reorder cycles lead times and price changes.
  
• Support periodic audits of categories and SKUs to maintain clean accurate and actionable data.
  

Process improvement & special projects

You will:

• Identify inefficiencies in sourcing workflows and propose improvements.
  
• Support new supplier onboarding and documentation.
  
• Drive category clean-up projects: SKU rationalisation price reviews product standardisation etc.
  
• Support broader sourcing initiatives such as:
  
  • New sourcing partnerships
    
  • Market price benchmarking
    
  • Cost-saving projects
    
  • Category expansion research
    

Reporting & insights

You will:

• Prepare weekly sourcing operations reports: price changes stock availability gaps supplier SLA performance.
  
• Analyse data to spot anomalies opportunities and risks across categories.
  
• Provide insights that help Category Managers and the Sourcing Lead make better decisions.
  
• Monitor key sourcing KPIs and maintain tracking dashboards where needed.
  

Requirements

Your experience & what it takes to succeed at this role

1. 3 years of experience in operations supply chain category support business analysis or a similar analytical role.
   
2. Strong analytical skills with comfort working in Excel/Sheets and understanding numbers deeply.
   
3. Highly organised detail-oriented and reliable - you dont miss the small things.
   
4. Smart resourceful and able to break problems down logically.
   
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
   
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities at once.
   
7. A strong sense of ownership - you take accountability and enjoy being the person who keeps everything running smoothly.
   
8. Experience with FMCG retail suppliers or inventory management is a plus but not required.
