We cant afford blind spots in our environmental footprint or gaps in managing social risk. We need a sustainability professional who is detail-oriented proactive and committed to turning ESG principles into practical on-the-ground action that strengthens our impact.

As an ESG Officer you will play a key role in supporting the implementation coordination and monitoring of Babban Gonas environmental and social systems.

You will:

• Support environmental and social compliance across all operations ensuring alignment with relevant regulations standards and internal requirements.
  

• Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of Babban Gonas ESG policies procedures and performance frameworks.
  

• Identify potential environmental and social risks and support mitigation efforts at both field and operational levels.
  

• Build internal capacity by sensitizing and training teams on sustainability practices compliance expectations and ESG responsibilities.
  

• Coordinate with partners regulators and internal stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives and compliance activities.
  

• Monitor document and report on ESG performance providing timely insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  

Requirements

Youre not just a sustainability professional youre a guardian of responsible growth and a driver of measurable impact. You thrive in fast-paced high-impact environments where strategy compliance and operational excellence intersect.

You should have:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Science Sustainability Agriculture Social Sciences or a related field.
  

• 3 years of hands-on experience in ESG sustainability or environmental and social risk management ideally within agricultural social enterprise or development-focused organizations.
  

• Proven expertise in developing and implementing ESG policies systems and compliance frameworks.
  

• Strong knowledge of environmental and social risk assessment mitigation and reporting standards.
  

• Experience engaging with stakeholders including regulators donors and community partners to advance sustainability objectives.
  

• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate ESG data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  

• Excellent communication skills to influence teams and senior management.
