Position Summary:

Maintenance Technician
Franklin University Columbus Ohio
Pay: $23.35/hour Full-Time Onsite MonFri 6:00 a.m.3:00 p.m. (with possible overtime & emergency call)

Franklin University is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. Under general supervision this role performs intermediate-level maintenance troubleshooting and repairs across campus buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance (Carpentry Electrical Plumbing HVAC 70%)

Perform daily inspections preventative maintenance and repairs.
Install/repair fixtures doors drywall flooring lighting outlets motors plumbing fixtures valves traps thermostats filters and HVAC components.
Troubleshoot and resolve temperature issues power outages leaks and other building system problems.
Respond to emergency calls and correct safety or operational defects.

General Duties (30%)

Maintain compliance with applicable codes and complete required documentation.
Assist and mentor less-experienced technicians.
Communicate effectively with customers team members and supervisors.
Participate in training meetings and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED.
Four years of general maintenance experience or equivalent.
Ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour certification within 90 days.
Capable of pushing/pulling 100 lbs. distinguishing colors and working on ladders.
Demonstrated skills in carpentry electrical plumbing and HVAC/R.

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA 10-hour Safety & Health card (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
3 years in a skilled trade (Plumbing Electrical HVAC).
Experience reading blueprints applying safety standards troubleshooting systems and using hand/power tools.

Work Environment

May require work in hot/cold/dusty conditions or tight spaces.
Occasional travel to other University locations.
