Job Summary

75% Research
  • Conduct and oversee laboratory and/or computational research.
  • Assist in mentoring and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students with their research.
  • Analyze data associated with conducted research.
  • Prepare research papers.
  • Lead and assist in preparation of research proposals.
15% - Reporting and Dissemination of Research
  • Prepare and present updates on research projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of research reports.
  • Participate in group meetings and present findings in seminars and conferences.
10% - Teaching
  • Assist the CEAE Department in teaching graduate classes (up to 1 class per academic year) depending on schedule and other research activities.

  1. PhD in Civil Engineeringwithan emphasis on transportation engineering or closely related field by date of appointment.

Position Overview
The University of Kansas Transportation Center (KUTC) and the Department of Civil Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas invite applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of transportation engineering under the supervision of Dr. Alexandra Kondyli and Dr. Steven Schrock. Highly qualified candidates with backgrounds in driver behavior modeling driving simulation connected and automated vehicles spatial data analysis or transportation safety are particularly encouraged to apply. The preferred start date is January 5 2026. This is a 1-year appointment with the possibility of reappointment contingent on demonstrated research performance and funding availability.
