The T55 Project Engineering team has an opening for a Sr. Advanced Project Engineer. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest aptitude and experience associated with the design development test and support of gas turbine engines for rotary-wing applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design development and test activity through all aspects of the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process on schedule on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.
- Broad indirect span of control of approximately 6 full time equivalent engineers.
- Cost account manager for assigned scope including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $3M.
- Expected to serve as the single point engineering leader for the assigned scope
- Lead a diverse cross functional team to accomplish the scope
- Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work
- Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies
- Promote and build strong team working relationships
- Manage within very difficult resource constraints
- Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team
- Balances workload of the team members
- Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are stuck or off track
- Leverages technical experts to review the technical work of the team
- Leads trade studies and RCCA activities
- Communicate project status with internal and external customers
Qualifications
- YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences technology engineering or mathematics
- 5 years engineering experience in design development and/or test of gas turbine engines or similarly complex mechanical systems.

- Bachelors in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Prior experience leading gas turbine engine design and development activities.
- Testing of moderately complex systems.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
- Program/Project Management experience.
- Strong cost account management skills.
- Demonstrates a bias for action and ability to work independently.
- Prioritizes time and resources effectively.
- Ability to build constructive working relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization to accomplish technical objectives under strict schedule constraints.
