As a fast-scaling company with offices in Brussels Freiburg Munich Washington and Toulouse our multidisciplinary team of engineers scientists and strategists is building the future of space-based Earth observation

Location:This position is offered on a Hybrid/remote basis in Germany ideally. We have offices in Munich and Berlin; therefore a commutable distance to these offices to meet with the Commercial Sales & Leadership Teams.

Your Role

We are seeking an accomplished visionary Director of Government Sales to lead our dual-use and defence market engagement. You will own and advance high-value relationships with ministries space agencies and industry primes translating interest into long-term partnerships and multi-year contracts. This is a hands-on strategic role for a seasoned operator who can move seamlessly between board-level discussions and detailed follow-up building structure where little exists yet. You will represent constellr in government and industry forums across Europe and beyond helping define the future of sovereign thermal intelligence.

Team & Reporting: You will report directly to constellrs Commercial Lead and be part of the commercial leadership team working closely with our policy product and technical teams. Youll collaborate with the Berlin Representative Office and regional partners to drive cross-border government engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sales and partnership development across government defence and institutional customers.

  • Own key accounts and opportunities from introduction through closure including ministries primes and agencies.

  • Drive consortium-based approaches to public tenders and national partnerships across Europe the Middle East and Asia.

  • Collaborate closely with our Berlin Representative Office and policy network to align on strategic engagement.

  • Develop and implement repeatable processes for long-cycle government sales including stakeholder mapping and follow-up systems.

  • Represent constellr at key defence and resilience events globally.

  • Provide senior-level market insights and pipeline visibility to the CEO and leadership team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and technical teams to shape proposals and ensure delivery readiness.

  • Interface with senior government advisors boards and international partners to advance long-term mission sales.

Job requirements

About you

Required:

  • Demonstrable experience in defence aerospace or government partnerships; strong familiarity with public procurement systems.

  • Solid understanding of satellite technology mission architectures and Earth observation platforms (able to discuss payloads orbits and mission concepts with technical counterparts).

  • Proven track record converting strategic relationships into large multi-stakeholder contracts.

  • Deep understanding of government sales processes primes and consortium dynamics.

  • Highly autonomous with the ability to create structure and drive outcomes in uncharted environments.

  • Technical competency in data interpretation and analysis relevant to remote sensing or defence intelligence.

  • Excellent communicator with board-level credibility.

  • Fluent English; German strongly preferred.

  • Employment is subject to security regulations. Applicants must be citizens of a NATO member state to meet clearance and access control requirements.

  • Based in Germany (Munich or Berlin preferred) with frequent travel.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in Earth Observation ISR or remote sensing.

  • Experience working with European institutions (ESA DLR CNES EDF etc.).

  • Existing network in defence aerospace or national government circles.
