The Delaware Department of Agriculture is currentlyseeking a Meat Compliance Investigation Officer. This position performsinspection of meat and meat products poultry and poultry products and fishand fish products to determine compliance with federal and state laws andregulations relating to standards of wholesomeness purity quality quantityand sanitation prior to release into commerce. Meat ComplianceInvestigation Officers work with facilities/plants to verify that SanitationStandard Operating Procedures and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Pointplans include innovative approaches to controlling pathogens comply with allregulations and address food safety hazards and risk. Meat ComplianceInvestigation Officers serve as technical a resource for facilities to updateand improve sanitation and food safety practices.

Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.As a condition of hire applicants must successfully complete all required training to obtain a Food Inspector License by the end of the one year probationary period.
