Software Engineer III Java, AI Sr Developer

As a Software Engineer-III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector you are a key member of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you will work across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Participates in evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to assess architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
• Engages in communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
• Designs and implements scalable Generative and Agentic AI solution using LLM Prompt Engineering RAG Tools MCP and Multi-Agent system.

Required Qualifications Capabilities And Skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability.
• Hands-on experience in designing and building production grade Generative and Agentic AI solution using Java
• Experience in programming Java Spring Boot ORM frameworks JPA SQL
• Experience in Prompt engineering and LLM Integration with multiple models e.g. OpenAI Anthropic Google
• Exposure to AI framework and Platforms like SpringAI LangGraph4J LangChain4J Amazon Bedrock
• Experience in setting up Data pipeline RAG for model embedding and learning
• Experience in building Tools / Functions using MCP for Agentic AI solution
• Practical experience with Cloud (AWS or Azure or GCP) and Containers (Docker Kubernetes).
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle. Strong understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

Preferred Qualifications Capabilities And Skills

• Exposure to distributed system and cloud technologies
• Prior hands-on experience with Python (secondary skill)
