Job Summary

Job Description: The Psychology Department at Arcadia University (located in Glenside PA just north of Philadelphia) is seeking to expand its pool of experts who can teach electives within their expertise. We value instructors who combine academic expertise with empathy inclusion and a dedication to guiding students through academic challenges.

Though we have specific needs for the Spring 2026 semester we also welcome any subject-matter experts in the Philadelphia area who are passionate about connecting psychological theory to real-world contexts and who can bring psychology to life for students through engaging instruction.

Location: Glenside

Responsibilities:

For the Spring 2026 semester we are specifically looking for an adjunct to teach either Developmental or Introductory Psychology:

Two sections of Developmental Psychology (lifespan):

  • 11:00 AM to 12:05 PM M-W-F
  • 12:15 PM to 1:20 PM M-W-F

Or two sections of Introduction to Psychology:

  • 8:30 AM - 10:10 AM Tu-Th
  • 12:15 PM to 1:20 PM M-W-F

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess a Masters Psy.D. Ph.D in psychology or a closely related field; however current psychology graduate students with some teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a record of effective teaching of related courses as the sole instructor.

The number of part-time instructors hired by the department varies from semester to semester depending upon the needs of the program. When a position is available qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview and asked to submit further documentation.
