Job Summary

AECOMs Disaster Recovery Division is seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery Program Advisor. This role will serve in an advisory capacity to support the divisions growth initiatives as well as the execution of projects.

Job Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support division growth strategies in conjunction with the Division Manager and Growth and Strategy Lead to include assisting in proposal efforts developing and maintaining client relationships and participating in client workshops.
  • Monitor legislation federal funding allocations and policy updates to advise on policy implications that would impact clients active projects or growth initiatives.
  • Assist state local territorial tribal governments and non-profit organizations in administering FEMA HUD or other grant programs for disaster recovery and resilience. This includes providing guidance to clients reviewing documents for compliance with program requirements and providing advice on disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Oversee and direct the implementation of Disaster Recovery projects.
  • Monitor and understand the financial performance of the project.
  • Monitor project execution and documentation for compliance with federal and/or state regulations.
  • Provide support and direction to project team including training and technical guidance on technical aspects of FEMA PA HMGP and/or HUD programs within the limits of applicable Federal and State statutes regulations policies and procedures.
  • Advise on the development of policies and procedures as it relates to awarded grants or funding.
  • Manage major project efforts requiring complex coordination across multiple systems and processes.
  • Provide consultation and advice to senior division management as it relates to federal or state programs.

 

 

 


Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education including 2 years of leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of demonstrated past performance with FEMA Public Assistance FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs or HUD;
  • 5 years managing a program project or functional area
  • Possess flexibility to respond to and manage different tasks often with competing priorities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Documented experience managing cross-functional teams of program staff and technical experts
  • Extensive knowledge of local state and federal markets.
  • Financial and business acumen. 
  • Knowledge and skills in Federal grant provisions and requirements.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement labor compliance environmental requirements.
  • Possess flexibility to respond to and manage different tasks often with competing priorities.
  • Advanced time management skills which utilize high-level strategies in managing time productivity and effectiveness.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
