The Process Engineer Technician will work closely with Engineering and plant production personnel to optimize and improve manufacturing processes efficiency and capacity. Design implement and monitor manufacturing processes to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production to meet internal and external customer demands. Provide evaluations analyses and troubleshooting of parts equipment and processes and report results.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Confer and collaborate with management engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and other considerations to facilitate production processes and take appropriate actions to include:
- Analyzing and planning workforce utilization space requirements workflow and design layout of equipment and workspace to support maximum efficiency.
- Evaluating existing processes suggesting and/or developing improvement methods and measures and configuring manufacturing system to reduce costs and improve capacity.
- Estimating production times and related costs and providing information to management to aid decision making.
- Developing product designs and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Analyzing performance to estimates and proactively reporting results. Provide weekly analyses and production data to Production Supervisors to ensure accuracy of Tool masters.
- Continuously evaluate develop and enhance manufacturing methods by utilizing product design knowledge materials and parts fabrication processes tooling and production equipment capabilities assembly methods and quality control standards.
- Provide accurate quotations to the Sales team on estimated costs for customer required products.
- Work closely with project teams and business development functional areas to plan and coordinate manufacturing processes.
Qualifications :
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) / Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) plus a minimum of five (5) years of process engineering and/or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred or equivalent combination of education training and experience.
- Associates degree (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar discipline preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Process Engineering Skills. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problem solving. Strong analysis design and implementation experience. Working knowledge of tool design product/process risk assessment equipment design and automation test methods development and validation design verification process technical writing and regulations knowledge. Ability to drive a culture of continuous improvement and proactive approaches.
- Core People Skills. Ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization and across the globe.
