Our development pipeline and acquisition prospects are concentrated in the western United States including California Oregon Washington and Nevada. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and serves as a key technical leader within the service team. This position is responsible for performing advanced maintenance work mentoring other technicians and ensuring smooth operations when the Maintenance Supervisor is off-site. The Senior Maintenance Technician leads by example demonstrates strong communication and organization skills and partners closely with the office team vendors and residents to deliver an exceptional living experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Minimum of 35 years of maintenance experience including advanced troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Performs professional levels of maintenance services such as plumbing electrical appliances heating and air-conditioning and general construction with minimal supervision.
  • Serves as a role model for quality workmanship safety and resident service standards.
  • Provides guidance support and informal training to maintenance technicians helping to develop their technical and customer service skills.
  • Communicates effectively with the Maintenance Supervisor Community Manager and office team to ensure coordination of work orders turns and preventative maintenance.
  • Assists in vendor communication and coordination including walk-throughs verifying scope of work and ensuring completion to standard.
  • Supports team scheduling and workflow when the Maintenance Supervisor is off-site ensuring maintenance operations continue seamlessly.
  • Maintains accurate records of completed work and reports recurring issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and empathy in all resident interactions ensuring a positive experience.
  • Participates in the on-call rotation and responds to after-hours emergencies with sound judgment and technical expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 35 years of hands-on experience in apartment maintenance or equivalent technical field.
  • Advanced knowledge of tools and power equipment including drills saws grinders electrical testers HVAC systems and plumbing tools.
  • Proficiency in plumbing electrical systems HVAC appliance repair and general carpentry.
  • EPA Section 608 Certified HVAC Technician and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with residents team members and vendors.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to model company values and mentor peers.
  • Dependable and self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and participate in an on-call rotation.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIROMENTAL REQUIREMENETS:

  • Occasional bending kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent sitting and occasional standing walking reaching
  • Noise level may be moderate to high at times
