We are loonking for a Semi Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- As a Software Engineer you will actively work alongside other engineers to work on highly technical projects and deliver high quality contributions to the codebase
- Use java/GraphQL to design API to consume/produce data and build backend applications to power wayfair advertising platforms.
- Use kafka/aerospike/Elasticsearch for building a realtime data pipeline as a backbone for the entire Advertising team.
- Provide superior monitoring visibility to technical and operational health of the platform using DataDog/Grafana
- Provide high quality reviews for both code and technical designs
- Use ecommerce business knowledge to convert the product requirements into a technical solution
- Solid understanding of database management (SQL) and software engineering principles.
- Participate and manage on-call and production support rotations to support and troubleshoot system issues off-hours and during promotional events
Requisitos
Requirements:
- 4 years of hands-on software engineering experience with a primary focus on building and operating production-ready backend services.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms data structures and distributed systems concepts.
- Proficiency and practical experience with Java (or a similar JVM language) in a professional environment.
- Solid experience designing and implementing APIs using frameworks like GraphQL for data consumption and production.
- Working knowledge of asynchronous processing and data pipeline components specifically Kafka Aerospike or Elasticsearch.
- Demonstrated understanding of relational and NoSQL database management and SQL.
- Familiarity with service monitoring and observability tools (e.g. DataDog/Grafana) for troubleshooting and on-call rotations.
- Basic exposure to cloud environments and containerization (e.g. Docker).
- Ability to contribute high-quality code and actively participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
