Business Development
- To actively participate and assist with sales leads tenders presentations and site show rounds.
- Conduct market research to identify new business development opportunities and potential new market sectors to enter.
- Build relationships with prospective clients and mobilise new contracts
- Following-up on leads and securing appointments
Client Experience
- To monitor and have input into our Service Level Agreements for our clients and reporting back to the business where themes are developing with strong or weak performance.
- To build strong client relationships whilst ensuring that the onsite manager is the primary contact.
- To ensure your direct reports deliver to the clients needs requirements and expectations in line with our contractual obligations and the companies vision and values.
Financial Management
To manage the finances within budget for each contract reporting back to the Operations Director as required.
Operational Skills and Knowledge
- As a company Portico has many policies and procedures over several areas i.e. HR development operational systems financial insurance health and safety etc. You will be required to ensure you and your direct reports are complaint with these at all times.
- Quarterly you will be required to audit the companys sites for Health & Safety and ensure that all new WSH policies for Health and Safety are communicated to all of Portico.
Personal Drive Organisation and Planning
- To identify realistic but challenging self-development needs and to take full responsibility for your own development and learning with the support of the business.
Communication
- To actively work with others (Portico Clients Suppliers and the Team) seeking out ideas for service improvements feedback and suggestions for development and to share this information up and down the company for the use of all.
- Must be able to challenge direct reports and clients in a positive way to gain the right outcome and not shy away from difficult decisions that require influencing skills
People
- To proactively communicate with all your direct reports on a frequent basis both verbally and in writing implementing new service ideas new system policies and procedures.
- To write job descriptions and person specifications to company standards.
- Responsibility for recruitment in line with the company policies.
- Responsibility for onsite induction and probation of employees in line with company policies.
- To be involved in the company grievance and disciplinary procedures as required.
- To carry out annual appraisals and regular reviews in a timely manner with all direct reports and to produce development and improvement plans that are followed through.
- To train coach and mentor your direct reports to achieve their full potential in line with the companies vision and values.
- To recognise and reward exceptional performance in line with the companys recognition and reward scheme.
- To actively have succession plans in place for all direct reports.
Qualifications :
People/ Interpersonal Skills:
- Charismatic Leadership skills with the ability to engender trust engage at all levels and model the way
- Able to create and cultivate meaningful inter-personal relationships and participate naturally and willingly with others
- Influencing and motivational skills are critical
- Strategic expertise and commercial vision
- Strong decision maker able to remain thoughtful and objective as well as respond quickly to external events
- Able to set a compelling vision and develop stretching objectives for self and others as well as monitor progress and inspire others to achieve results
Experience:
- A proven track record of successfully managing multi-site operations and multiple clients.
- A proven track record of successfully leading & managing managers
- Experience of managing service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Experience of leading a department or business function.
- Experience of data analysis and interpreting and presenting data in a business environment including proposals.
- A proven track record of successfully presenting management information and being able to collate and report statistics for performance measurement.
- Some experience in a catering environment is desirable.
Knowledge:
- Up to date with current technology developments and social media tools eg iPad Apps twitter etc.
- Meeting room booking system and visitor management (i.e. Condeco).
- Switchboard screen based (i.e. Cisco Arc.) Call Logger (i.e. proteus).
- Microsoft office particularly word excel and PowerPoint to at least intermediate level.
- Strong working knowledge of key employment legislation in grievance disciplinary managing attendance and recruitment
- Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety processes and the implementation of these
