The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching learning creativity social development and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Health and Social Development

About the role:

The Master of Occupational Therapy Practice is a new addition to the occupational therapy course offerings.

We are seeking a passionate Senior Lecturer to lead the new Master of Occupational Therapy Practice course and unit teaching teams. This role offers the opportunity to shape curriculum enhance student outcomes and drive high-impact research and scholarship. Youll collaborate with academic teams to deliver innovative teaching and contribute to the growth of the occupational therapy discipline.

As a Senior Lecturer you will:

  • Lead unit and course teaching teams
  • Lead review of units and courses and implement refinements
  • Drive and adopt innovation in curriculum design and deliver learner-centric research-informed teaching practices
  • Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit and course material and practices.
  • Develop effective assessments with clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes
  • Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research
  • Make significant contribution to seeking funding for research and creative activities including applications for external competitive funding
  • Recruit and supervise HDR students with timely completions and production and high-quality outcomes.
  • Provide effective mentoring to HDR students and ECRs to support professional and career development and employability

To be successful youll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area
  • Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated experience in occupational therapy practice
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs including innovative curriculum design and research supervision
  • Knowledge understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples.
  • Nationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals and exhibitions
  • Demonstrated capacity and passion for leadership of teaching research and administration.
