TITLE: Building Technology Apprentice
DEPARTMENT:Technology Operations
REPORTS TO:Director of Technology
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:TechnologyOperations and Central Campus Administration
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
BASIC FUNCTION:
Support the building technology specialist as an apprentice by providing basic tech support managing device inventory guiding staff in digital resource use and promoting technology use in the school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform basic computer hardware software and network troubleshooting maintenance and simple repairs if necessary (within the scope of and with the intent to train staff to perform these tasks for themselves).
- Escalate to Technology Operations beyond scope of basic troubleshooting using Technology ticketing system and protocols.
- Assist with the building technology distribution collection tracking and inventory for both staff and student devices during the school year using Technology inventory management software and protocols.
- Access and direct school personnel to digital resources web-based resources manuals and other materials on the use and implementation of software programs computer hardware and technology integration strategies as needed to support instructional goals.
- Attend meetings training sessions webinars and other activities as required.
- Serve as an additional contact within the building to the Technology department.
- Promote the use of technology by school personnel and students.
- Perform other duties related to the essential functions assigned by the building technology specialist.
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Current DMPS student.
- At least 16 years of age.
- Completed at least one year of Central Campuss Information Technology Program.
Desired:
- Demonstrated dependability punctuality and regular attendance.
- Customer service oriented.
- Detail oriented organized and aptitude for technology.
- Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
