We are currently looking to fill a full-time Commercial Security Installation Technician position servicing our Maine area of operations. The Commercial Security Installation Technician is responsible for performing the service and repair of commercial electronic security systems and components including intrusion alarms CCTV and access control as well as educating customers on the proper use services and maintenance of equipment and correctly addressing questions or concerns of the customer.
What to expect as a Commercial Security Installation Technician:
- Install program and configure commercial electronic security systems for commercial clients (door access control CCTV Intrusion detection low voltage communication electronic locks point sensors signaling devices etc.)
- Performs alarm system upgrades and additions along with troubleshooting new installations to ensure the systems are functioning properly and satisfy codes.
- Responsible for the connection of control panels application requirements wire concealment and security software installation.
- Assist the Project Manager regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment.
- Performs customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
- Performs system testing and signal verification.
- Manage several small to large jobs simultaneously and do so within approved hours and margin tolerances.
- Attends classroom and field training as required.
- Demonstrate Connectivity Points core values as a highly skilled leader on the installation team.
- Drive to client sites with a company-issued vehicle to perform the system installation and confirm the system is operating effectively and meets contract requirements while complying with the companys vehicle policy.
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures; and reports all accidents hazards and equipment problems.
- Attends and participates in various meetings within the company.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What knowledge and skills are required:
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- Minimum of one to two years in the physical security or low voltage communication industry installing field devices programming systems and running small to large size jobs required.
- A TST license to install telecommunications and security devices is required.
- Solid security and alarm system industry experience includes installation programming and service of IP Video Systems Access Control Systems and Intrusion Systems.
- Possess or can obtain proper state licensing once hired (Maine State Limited Low Energy license).
- General working knowledge of building codes network architecture electrical codes communication standards and installation.
- Ability to follow blueprints notes and specifications to meet the job requirements.
- Ability to deliver product familiarization training to end users.
- Experience with construction and adherence to large and small project scheduling.
- Enjoys hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (word excel outlook and Teams)
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a professional team.
- Excellent time management planning and forward-thinking skills.
- Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis.
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
- Must possess good decision-making skills be very organized and detail oriented.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
