The opportunity

Are you a Disability Support Worker or Home Carer looking for something different Join us as a School Bus Aide and make a real impact on the lives of children with disabilities. This role is perfect if you love interacting with kids and want to start and end each day knowing youve made a difference.

Kinetic are looking for a Bus Aide to provide assistance to School Bus drivers in the operation of School Bus Services (am/pm splits) ensuring efficient running and passenger safety. A Bus Aide may operate school services charters and special events.

Youll work split shifts (morning and afternoon) supporting students on their school bus journeys ensuring their safety comfort and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the safe boarding and exiting of students including those who are ambulant or use wheelchairs
  • Supervise student behaviour to maintain a safe and respectful environment on board
  • Attend to individual student needs including liaising with the driver about comfort factors such as heating and cooling
  • Engage positively with students demonstrating a caring and supportive attitude throughout the journey
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by initiating appropriate conversation and building rapport with students

We are people person with a customer first attitude and therefore are looking for people with:

  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Excellent customer service skills and enjoy working with the public
  • Ability to work as a team with the Driver to deliver a safe and effective service
  • Current first aid certificate and CPR
  • Current Working with Children Check (we can assist you obtaining one if required)
  • Be able to pass a preemployment physical examination and medical history check
  • Australian Work Rights
