Job Summary

Position: Software Developer

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM UK Time (tentative)

About the Company:
The client is a UK-based holding company for a group of long-established profitable businesses. The average age of their operating companies is 19 years and none of them rely on external funding - they are not a start-up.

They use code across our businesses to automate processes and extend the functionality of existing systems.

Youll be joining a small collaborative team working directly with one of their founders and an experienced developer. This is not a ticket-taking outsourcing role you will have real ownership the chance to propose improvements and scope to influence how our systems evolve.

What Youll Do

Maintain refactor and build tests for our existing Python codebase
Develop new features and tools to improve efficiencies at the operating companies
Build lightweight front-end interfaces for internal tools
Collaborate directly with founders and existing team to shape solutions
Use AI-powered development tools (e.g. Cursor Claude Code GitHub Copilot) as part of your workflow

Youll have considerable freedom to make changes to production code and the opportunity to put your own ideas into practice.

Their Tech Stack

Languages: Primarily Python (95% of code)
Front-end: Occasional work with web frameworks for UI tools
Platforms: Airtable (experience useful but not required)
Practices: Testing automation and continuous improvement

What Were Looking For

Strong Python skills (3 years of professional experience preferred)
Comfortable with version control (Github) and modern development workflows
Experience writing tests and improving codebases over time
Eagerness to learn and experiment with new tools especially AI-assisted coding
Clear communicator who enjoys collaborating in a small distributed team
Proficiency in Flask and Pandas/NumPy for Python development projects
Willing to take the assessment as part of the selection process
