- Note: Schedule may vary slightly based on business needs during month-end and quarter-end close periods
About the Role
- Join our Finance team where we drive business growth and operational excellence through strategic financial leadership. Were seeking a Part-Time Corporate Accountant to assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities.
- This role typically requires 8 9 workdays per month-covering the last 6 business days of the month and the first 3 days of the following month. Each workday will average 8 hours with flexibility in daily scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare test and maintain documentation to support monthly accruals through the Service PO Accrual (SPOA) process.
- Apply sound judgment and a solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles to ensure accurate and compliant entries.
- Collaborate with Requestors and Financial Analysts to ensure timely and accurate accruals.
- Support the SPOA database manager in preparing and analyzing monthly accrual data.
- Identify and report Procurement and Accounts Payable processing errors for timely resolution.
- Participate in cross-training and provide coverage for other Corporate Accounting areas during peak periods.
- Continuously review and improve desk procedures and process flows to strengthen internal controls and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred.
- 3 4 years of relevant experience in accounting purchasing or accounts payable.
- Solid understanding of accrual accounting concepts.
- Experience with automated AP and purchasing systems (Oracle experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and customer service orientation.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
