Technical Claims Director Property & Casualty
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Claims Director to join a Property & Casualty Claims team. This role is pivotal in providing technical expertise and oversight for complex Commercial General Liability claims. The successful candidate will collaborate with Claims Professionals Senior Leadership Underwriting Actuary and other key stakeholders to ensure technical excellence effective claims resolution and strategic alignment. This is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence two days a week.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $130000 - $180000 per year

Responsibilities
- Provide technical insights and oversight for Property and Casualty Claims team.
- Act as a coverage resource addressing and resolving coverage issues coordinating with coverage counsel and overseeing coverage litigation.
- Drive technical excellence through mentoring education training and development of technical guidelines and governance.
- Collaborate with Senior Claim Leadership Underwriting and Actuary on claims litigation developments coverage trends reserve movements and loss mitigation strategies.
- Identify emerging legal and claims trends and provide technical guidance to claims teams and partners.
- Manage and maintain the claims Watchlist and implement resolution strategies for listed claims.
- Participate effectively in reserve and trial roundtables.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance and/or litigation.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in claims or a law firm setting is preferred.
- Extensive technical expertise in all aspects of Commercial General Liability claims including reserving and resolution.
- Proven experience handling complex and high-severity bodily injury claims; experience with New York Labor Law and Construction Defect is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of insurance coverage coverage litigation and working with coverage counsel to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage and oversee claims across various lines of business with varying levels of complexity.
- Exceptional leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
