Ashland ME - FT/Rotating - Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Job Description:
Permanent opening for an Electrical Technician to work for a local industrial plant. This position offers competitive wages and a full selection of benefits available after temp-to-hire period: 401k with employer match paid time off and medical dental and vision insurance. Full-time/Rotating; 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Days) and 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Nights). $24.00 - $30.00/hr. depending on experience.
The Electrical Technician will install maintain and repair electrical systems and components within the facility. Applicants must have an associate degree in electrical engineering as well as 2-5 years of experience working in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality testing and inspections to ensure that all electrical systems on-site are in good working order.
- Examine work orders and communicate with equipment operators to detect equipment problems.
- Repair equipment by replacing defective components or worn parts.
- Install and troubleshoot new electrical equipment.
- Send defective units to the manufacturer or to a specialized repair shop for repair.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems repairs calibrations or tests.
- Follow all local state and federal regulations for job site safety.
- Comply with all safety guidelines as directed by company policy.
- Perform other relevant duties as requested by job site supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Must be licensed to work as an electrician in the State of Maine.
- At least 2-3 years experience working in a factory and/or mill setting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with electrical controls power distribution programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives.
- Good communication skills; must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
