About the unit

3E/G is a unique team structure at Blodgett Hospital composed of two separate units but one team. 3E is a 24 bed Med/Surg unit with some Medical Orthopedic patients while 3G is a 22 bed Orthopedic unit primarily serving Total Joint Replacement Patients. Our team works on both units providing a variety of patient population experience including Total Joint Replacement Hip Fracture Osteomyelitis and other medical patients. Those working on the 3EG team are part of an exceptional Joint Replacement program that is one of the largest and best in the nation serving on average 2800 patients per year. The program has received and maintained Joint Replacement Disease Specific Certification from the Joint Commission as a testament to our teams dedication to provide high-quality care.

Since 1846 Blodgett Hospital has earned a reputation for excellence as a community and teaching hospital. We provide patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private patient rooms and outpatient services for medical surgical and specialty care achieving high rates of patient satisfaction.

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence-based practice and research quality of practice professional practice evaluation resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

Associates in Nursing Required
Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
