We Are Looking For

The Buyer is responsible for processing orders out of Quantum. Work with the vendors and FDH sales teams to resolve issues that arise from their orders being placed. Negotiate cost savings and improve lead times where possible and ensure that LTA purchasing templates are completed in a timely manner. The Buyer will need to ensure that orders placed are scheduled properly to conserve cash and adhere to customers needs dates.


What Youll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Enter vendor quotations into the ERP system
  • Review and update the purchasing teams unconfirmed order report on a daily basis
  • Process Pos out of Quantum and Kingdee for Adhoc LTA and replenishment needs
  • Work with vendors and sales team to resolve issues with orders
  • Negotiate cost savings and improved lead times
  • Ensure LTA items are placed in a timely manner
  • Work special projects as needed such as push/cancel lists
  • Establish beneficial/advantageous relationships with current and new suppliers
  • Provide technical/product knowledge when required cross reference/equivalent sourcing
  • Provide customer bill of material and drawing review to identify required material
  • Update and manage product part number and pricing information on company software system
  • Perform other duties assigned


What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills):

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 3 years of buyer experience in the aerospace or electronic components industry is helpful
  • Experience with an ERP system and must be able to learn company proprietary software
  • An understanding of and working knowledge of aerospace quality management practices and AS9120 requirements is helpful
  • Must be a strong and intelligent negotiator
  • A self-motivated and quick learner with the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
  • Sharp attention to detail attentiveness and accuracy are of utmost importance
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Experience organizing/coordinating multiple projects
  • Must be computer savvy and learn company proprietary software programs
  • Must be able to convey written and verbal instructions


Special Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) orasylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
  • ITAR requirement
  • 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.
