Role Overview:
The Cloud L1 Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational support and maintenance of the VMware virtualization environment focusing on ticket resolution monitoring and basic provisioning tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 support for incidents and service requests related to the VMware infrastructure.
- Perform routine administrative tasks including creating and managing Virtual Machines (VMs) Templates and Snapshots.
- Monitor the health and performance of the vSphere 5.X 6.0/6.5 environment.
- Assist with the migration of physical servers to virtual machines (P2V) and virtual machines between environments (V2V).
- Ensure the successful operation of core features such as vMotion and High Availability (HA).
- Maintain accurate documentation of the virtual infrastructure and troubleshooting steps.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of total experience in IT infrastructure with at least 3 years of experience as a VM Administrator (this is a common industry overlap for L1/L2 roles).
- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with vSphere 5.X 6.0/6.5.
- Strong understanding of vCenter ESXi and ESX host management.
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts like vMotion HA P2V V2V Templates & Snapshots.
Excellent communication and basic troubleshooting skills
