We are seeking a highly skilled specialist to lead the migration of legacy mainframe applications to a modern midrange Java environment using Astadia Factory tools. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in mainframe technologies strong debugging capabilities and hands-on experience with Java codeespecially post-conversion. This role is critical to ensuring the successful transformation and deployment of applications in AWS Batch.

What will your job look like

• • Utilize Astadia Factory tools to transform mainframe applications to Java-based midrange systems.
  • Debug and validate converted Java code ensuring functional parity with legacy systems.
  • Analyze and resolve issues in both mainframe and converted Java environments.
  • Document technical designs migration strategies and troubleshooting steps.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration and integration.
  • Collaborate with Cloud engineers to deploy applications in AWS Batch.
  • Mentor junior developers and support knowledge transfer across teams.

All you need is...

• • 7 years of experience in mainframe technologies (COBOL JCL CICS DB2 IMS).
  • 2 years of hands-on Java development experience.
  • Strong debugging skills in both mainframe and Java environments.
  • Experience with mainframe-to-Java migration frameworks is a plus
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting and SQL.
  • Understanding of AWS and cloud deployment practices.
  • Exposure to Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Certifications in AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Python or other modern programming languages is a plus.
