The Complex Care and Recovery (CCR) Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time temporary (12 months) Clinical Psychologist for the Therapeutic Neighbourhood. The successful candidate will provide leadership for patient programming for a wide variety of patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses - primarily schizophrenia. Reporting to the Manager of the Therapeutic Neighbourhood and the Head of Psychology Psychosis and Recovery Division the successful candidate will support treatment program development and evaluation capacity building inter-professional education and clinical supervision of psychosocial intervention practices for CAMH patients with mental illness and/or substance use. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
You will be asked to:
- Support development implementation and continued delivery of empirically-supported primarily group-based psychosocial interventions for patients in the CAMH Therapeutic Neighbourhood;
- Participate in program development evaluation and research;
- Support referral process
- Provide training and supervision to doctoral level psychology students/residents and learners across disciplines;
- Provide psychological consultation to other disciplines and treatment teams
The successful candidate will have a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology and will have current registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) to practice Clinical successful candidate will have extensive experience with empirically supported psychosocial interventions for schizophrenia spectrum illnesses including competence in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for psychosis third-wave behavioural interventions (e.g. DBT ACT etc.) and extensive training and experience in motivational interviewing. Research and/or evaluation experience in applied clinical contexts is an asset. They will also have the skills required to provide training supervision and consultation in inpatient care contexts as well as to support capacity-building initiatives related to inpatient programming. You will also have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and function well within a cooperative collaborative working environment. You have the ability for self-directed learning/working while working concurrently on multiple projects. The successful candidate is able to work independently with minimal supervision seeking advice and support when needed. You must be able to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. An excellent attendance record consistency and reliability should be demonstrated in your record of past employment and references.
