Metabolic Disorders Team
The Metabolics Disorders team serves children youth and adults with complex metabolic disorders. Services to be provided include cognitive behavioural and social-emotional assessment diagnostic consultation liaison and intervention to children and adults with Metabolic Disorders. The Psychologist will function as part of an interdisciplinary health care team.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments with a focus on diagnostic formulation diagnosis and delineating the interplay between health cognitive and mental health issues.
- Provide brief psychological assessments to determine the efficacy of new treatment regimes.
- Mental health consultation and treatment services for children youth and adults with metabolic disorders.
- Liaison with other members of the Metabolics Disorders team with regard to assessment findings and recommendations and their implications for the management of the child/youth/adult. Offer learning opportunities to other student professionals in training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
- PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited Clinical Psychology program (Essential)
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Psychologist in Ontario (Essential)
- Designated practice as a Psychologist in Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents (Essential)
- Experience in a paediatric health-care setting (Essential)
- Experience providing services to children and youth with complex medical and mental health conditions (Essential)
- Training and experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT) Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) (Preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals (Essential)
- Flexibility in work hours (evening and weekend work may be required) (Essential)
- Supervision experience (Preferred)
- Bilingualism (Fluency in both French and English) (Preferred)

Équipe des troubles métaboliques
Cette équipe soccupe des enfants des adolescents et des adultes qui ont des troubles métaboliques complexes. Elle fournit des services dévaluation cognitive comportementale et socio-émotionnelle ainsi que des consultations diagnostiques. Elle assure la liaison et lintervention auprès des enfants et des adultes qui ont des troubles métaboliques. Le ou la titulaire fera partie de cette équipe interdisciplinaire de soins de santé.
Le ou la titulaire:
Fournira des évaluations psychologiques psychoéducatives complètes axées sur le diagnostic et sur sa formulation et soulignant linteraction entre les troubles cognitifs et les troubles de santé physique et mentale.
- Fournira de brèves évaluations psychologiques pour déterminer lefficacité de nouveaux traitements.
- Offrira des services de consultation en santé mentale et de traitement aux enfants aux adolescents et aux adultes qui souffrent de troubles métaboliques.
- Assurera le lien avec dautres membres de lÉquipe des troubles métaboliques en évaluant leurs conclusions et leurs recommandations ainsi que les conséquences sur la gestion de cas des enfants des adolescents et des adultes. Il ou elle offrira aussi des occasions dapprentissage à dautres professionnels en phase de formation.
QUALIFICATIONS
