A Brief Overview

Conducts tests on the cardiovascular systems of patients for diagnostic purposes. Effectively interacts with the patient significant others and other health team members while practicing CREDO. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and practice utilizing critical thinking skills in performing testing on the cardiac patient.

What you will do

  • Monitors patients blood pressure heart rate and EKG using electrocardiogram equipment (QStress) during diagnostic procedures and notifies the physician if the patient is out of the normal range for these measures.
  • Monitors patients comfort and safety during tests alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Explains testing procedures to patient and families to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Prepares and positions patients for testing.
  • Observes gauges recorder and video screens of data analysis system during imaging of cardiovascular system.
  • Conducts Holter monitors and Cardiac Event monitors.
  • Assists with stress testing (all types) echocardiograms and other applicable cardiovascular tests to record patients cardiac activity using specialized electronic test equipment and recording devices. Maintains the white board for schedule organization.
  • Obtains and records patient identification medical history and test results. Prepares reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physician.
  • Attaches electrodes to the patients chest arms and legs connect electrodes to leads from the electrocardiogram machine (QStress) and operate the QStress machine to obtain a reading during a stress test.
  • Adjusts equipment and controls according to physicians orders or established protocol.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications

    • Allied Health Degree Required
    • 1-3 years Previous work-related skill knowledge or experience Required
    • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
    • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries diseases and deformities. This includes symptoms treatment alternatives drug properties and interactions and preventive health-care measures.
    • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words rules of composition and grammar.
    • Knowledge and prediction of physical principles laws their interrelationships and applications to understanding fluid material and atmospheric dynamics and mechanical electrical atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes.
    • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
    • Giving full attention to what other people are saying taking time to understand the points being made asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
    • Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
    • Actively looking for ways to help people.
    • Adjusting actions in relation to others actions.
    • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself other individuals or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
    • Watching gauges dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
    • Being aware of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
    • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
    • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
    • The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
    • The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g. patterns of numbers letters words pictures mathematical operations).
    • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem only recognizing there is a problem.
