The Role
As Senior Bookkeeper youll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the companys financial operations. Reporting directly to the Director you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting processes and contribute to the businesss financial stability and success.
Youll work closely with the leadership team and have the opportunity to grow and develop alongside the company as it expands its operations and team.
Key Responsibilities
Record all financial transactions including purchase/sales invoices receipts and payments
Manage purchase orders and prepare payment runs
Maintain general ledgers and ensure regular reconciliation of control accounts
Prepare monthly financial reports including Trial Balance Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
Process payroll including calculations submissions and payments
Prepare and submit VAT and CIS Returns
Support financial reporting and assist with process improvements as the company grows
Requirements
kills & Experience
AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred
Proven experience in a bookkeeping role ideally within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles
Experience using Xero and Sage Construct software
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within a small growing team
Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
A proactive approach and a genuine desire to progress and expand your skillset
