Senior Java Developer

Location: Preference is for candidates who can be onsite 4 days a week in Westlake TX. Strong candidates in Lone Tree CO or Chicago IL may be considered but lets prioritise Westlake/Dallas.

Your opportunity

As a Senior hands-on Developer of Software Development Engineering you will enable WAM Engineering to achieve consistent predictable high-quality delivery by implementing best practices tools metrics automation frameworks and provide oversight in the areas of software development and testing. Youll serve as a strong and versatile hands-on technical engineer. You will deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible collaborative and rapidly changing environment.

What you have

Follow the technical lead implement stories and collaborate with partners to deliver RESTful APIs common frameworks and libraries for data quality data observability and data transformation that can be used across different applications in Wealth Management Engineering by designing developing testing and support. Implement and recommend software development best practices as a go-to development partner for the scrum team members. Build the services and features required for each assigned story including the skills and tools below.

Required qualifications:

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

12 years of hands-on Java back-end software development experience.

Strong experience developing RESTful APIs with Java Spring Boot and Hibernate.

Strong knowledge of object-oriented principals and design patterns.

Application development using TDD practices.

Experience writing unit integration and end-to-end tests.

Understanding of Agile frameworks including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team.

Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as GitHub/GitActions.

Relational database experience within MSSQL PostgreSQL or Oracle.

Understanding cloud-native enterprise applications deployed in PCF AWS GCP or Azure.

Experience detecting troubleshooting and remediating issues affecting production applications.

Proven experience in building high-quality software by enforcing software development best practices including code reviews and adherence to coding standards.

Exceptional interpersonal skills including team interaction and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

Application performance evaluation and tuning skills.

Experience in building non functional frameworks or libraries.

Experience using messaging queues and streaming technologies such as Kafka and rMQ.

Non-relational DB experience.

Wealth Management and/or Financial Services industry experience.

Ability to quickly learn & become proficient with new technologies.
