Position Summary:
The Automotive Service Center Assistant Manager supports the Service Center Manager in overseeing daily operations ensuring exceptional customer service efficient workflow and adherence to company standards. This role assists in supervising service technicians and advisors managing inventory and maintaining profitability while promoting a safe positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales:
Greet customers assess their service needs and ensure a professional and welcoming experience.
Communicate clearly about recommended services pricing and timelines.
Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
Operational Support:
Assist the Service Manager in daily operations scheduling and workflow management.
Oversee vehicle check-ins inspections and work order processes.
Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with company safety and environmental standards.
Manage inventory parts ordering and vendor relationships.
Support opening and closing procedures for the service center.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and motivate service technicians and advisors to achieve performance goals.
Provide training coaching and performance feedback to team members.
Foster a culture of teamwork safety and continuous improvement.
Administrative & Financial Duties:
Assist with budgeting cost control and profitability analysis.
Maintain accurate records of services performed parts used and customer transactions.
Generate daily weekly or monthly reports as required by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred).
2 years of experience in automotive service retail management or related field.
Strong technical understanding of automotive systems and maintenance procedures.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication problem-solving and organizational abilities.
Proficiency with point-of-sale and service management software.
Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced service environment with frequent interaction with customers and technicians.
Requires standing walking and light lifting throughout the day.
May require weekends or extended hours based on business needs.
Performance Metrics:
Customer satisfaction and retention rates.
Service center profitability and sales growth.
Efficiency and accuracy of service operations.
