Duration of the Contract: 12 months

Project Scope:
This position involves working within a multi-tier enterprise application environment that utilizes MicroFocus Visual COBOL ( and Oracle/MS SQL Server databases.
The selected consultant will be responsible for developing new business functionalities troubleshooting existing systems and enhancing performance and reliability within the organizations core business ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills experience in production support and the ability to work independently while collaborating with both technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze existing COBOL Web Service and Batch business applications.
Lead in identifying and resolving system issues.
Propose and implement technical solutions to meet business needs.
Code test and deploy system updates following best practices.
Provide regular progress reports to the development manager.

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelors degree in information technology or related field with 8 years of experience
or 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
810 years of full-stack system development experience in a three-tier environment spanning Web/Mobile Oracle and MS SQL Server.
Strong DevSecOps background including release management testing (beyond happy path) and team collaboration.
Proven experience in COBOL development using MicroFocus Visual COBOL in Visual Studio 2019/2022 on Windows Server 2022 (IIS).
Proficiency in application programming against Oracle and MS SQL Server databases.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Visual Studio 2019 (Debugging)
Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
C# .NET development
Strong SQL experience (Oracle & MS SQL Server)
IIS configuration and setup
MicroFocus certifications
DevSecOps certifications
