About the role
The units focus is to provide home haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis training home and clinic-based support throughout the Southern region in peritoneal and haemodialysis.

Please note within the first few months training will be requried to be undertaken in our Dunedin Hospital. (Length to be determined by past Haemodialysis experience - Accomodation and travel paid as well as meal allowances)

  • Total commitment towards Home Dialysis treatment for all chronic dialysis patients with on-going support for patients /family/whanau.

  • Visit patients and families to provide in home care.
  • Working hours Mon-Sat 0630-1500 or 1100-1930
  • Rotating roster with a mix of shifts / days of week above
  • Option to pick up additional shifts to cover planned and unplanned leave
  • Work as part of an MDT and know that you are an integral part of decision making for our Dialysis patient cohort
  • Experience in Dialysis is a bonus but not essential.
  • learn very technical practical niche skills clinical assessment and critical thinking

About you

  • Must have current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC
  • Must already hold working rights as we are unable to sponsor visas for these roles
  • Full clean NZ Drivers licence
  • Personable highly flexible and adaptable to work in a high output area
  • A positive can-do attitude and a good sense of humour
  • Empathy and compassion to manage and deal with challenging conversations and behaviours
  • The ability to work well as part of a small niche skillset team
  • The right mindset to be open to new ideas and not be afraid to bring your ideas to the team

Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the RN Pay Scale between step 2 $81683 and step 7 $106739 p.a pro rata dependant on relevant experience.
