Summary
The Quality Supervisor leads a team of inspection personnel in evaluating the quality of materials and products. This role evaluates methods of inspection and suggests necessary improvements and coordinates inspection schedules to meet business objectives and priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; managing expectations of performance; rewarding motivating and disciplining employees; addressing performance and personnel concerns.
- Interfaces effectively with NNSA Quality Assurance Manufacturing Engineering Union and other support organizations.
- Leads employees to meet key goals and objectives of the organization ensuring product meets product and process requirements.
- Responsible for the training and development of employees in product inspection and conformance to specifications.
- Implements quality policies and delegates and disseminates instructions to staff.
- Promotes and fosters a continuous improvement mindset.
- Support evaluations of requirements for equipment and facilities within the areas of responsibility.
- Exhibits and practices a personal commitment to operational surety and instills the same attitude in hourly personnel.
- Ensures departmental compliance with internal procedures and the regulatory requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation Environmental Protection Agency OSHA Internal Civil Aviation Organization Department of Energy Internal Air Transportation Associates General Services Administration and Motor Carrier Safety Act in handling and shipment of hazardous materials.
- Implements and adheres to Honeywell policies upholds professional standards and performs all work in accordance with our Honeywell Code of Conduct.
You Must Have
- Bachelors degree and 2 years of related experience or Associates degree and 3 years of related experience or HS diploma/certification and 4 years of related experience.
- Ability to work remote hybrid or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain if required for position a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
We Value
- Established and working knowledge of current KCNSC quality assurance/quality inspection processes.
- Understanding and experience with Manufacturing Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft MRP or similar production planning applications.
- Ability to access understand interpret and act on data.
- Experience identifying and acting on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Green Belt certified and/or history of applying standard Six Sigma tools.
- Familiar with principles of the Honeywell Operating System (HOS).
- Evidence of ability to lead influence coach mentor develop and discipline people.
- Ability to work any shift.
- Mechanical or Electrical Inspection experience.
