About the Role

The Civil Engineer supports and manages multiple civil design projects preparing site layouts grading drainage and utility plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. This role involves technical design calculations permitting and documentation for public and private developments while ensuring compliance with civil codes and standards. It also includes contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Comprehension of principles/practices of civil engineering.
• Understanding of approval and permitting process for civil projects and the basic technical writing skills needed for civil reports and letters.
• Knowledge of codes and standards in civil design including site layout grading erosion control storm sewer water sanitary sewer roadway and fueling design.
• Proficiency in calculations and programs used in the design of civil systems and reports including drainage water sanitary sewer and roadway systems.
• Experience in concurrently managing multiple projects schedules and budgets.
• Perform assignments designed to develop professional working knowledge and abilities requiring the application of standard techniques procedures and criteria needed to carry out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
• Execute plan drafting using AutoCAD and Civil3D software.
• Adjust and correlate data recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related and detailed steps or processes.
• Prepare improvement plans specifications supporting documents and permit applications for subdivisions commercial developments multifamily developments and public works projects.
• Assist in the preparation of calculations like storm drain wastewater water system earthwork quantities transportation cost estimates and other supporting documentation for public and private projects.
• Take an active role in new business development and build strong relationships with existing clients.

Education

• Bachelor of Engineering from a four-year board-approved engineering curriculum.

Experience

• Typically a minimum of 4 years of civil engineering experience after educational requirements. 2 years or more of land development experience highly preferred.

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $80000-$90000.
