Buloke Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused Compliance Officer to join our Community Safety and Development Services Team.
This role plays a key part in supporting the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors across the Buloke Shire. The focus is on education engagement and early intervention helping community members understand local laws fire prevention responsibilities and how to contribute to a safe sustainable and welcoming community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate and inform the community about local laws fire prevention and responsible pet ownership.
- Provide clear and supportive advice to residents to encourage voluntary compliance.
- Work collaboratively with the public community groups and partner agencies to promote community safety.
- Assist with the implementation of fire prevention initiatives under the Municipal Fire Management Plan.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports correspondence and educational materials.
About You
Youll be a confident communicator who enjoys working with people and solving problems. You understand that positive outcomes come from education and collaboration not just enforcement.
To be successful you will have:
- Qualifications (or willingness to obtain) in compliance community engagement or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- An ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience or interest in local government community safety or fire prevention.
- A current valid drivers licence
