Fire Protection Engineer (1-6 Years)

In this Role You Will:

• Be a positive contributor to overall office and department goals culture and morale.
• Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email word processing spreadsheets and simple graphics.
• Possess technical writing skills.
• Manage day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations.
• Perform building and fire code analysis and code interpretations.
• Perform analysis of existing fire protection systems as well as designing new fire protection systems including suppression systems fire detection alarm and mass notification systems
• Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution. 
• Utilize AutoCAD and/or Revit to prepare fire protection system designs.
• Utilize FDS Pyrosim and CONTAM programs to execute performance-based design efforts.
• Develop project management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client needs
• Attend and participate in local and national professional organizations such as SFPE

Qualifications :

• BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited university
• Fire Protection specific degree desired
• Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE) desired
• 1 to 6 years of professional experience in the fire protection consulting profession
• Dependent upon the level of experience PE EIT or ability to obtain EIT.
• Experience with the current version of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC) and US design standards.

Compensation and Benefits

• Approximate Base Salary $75k-115k based on experience
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
• Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance
• Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
• 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution
