Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the requirements of all facilities. You will work with designated Facilities Supervisor or Team Leader to coordinate the use of outside contractors for maintenance and building projects ensuring services provided are safe cost effective and efficient. This will involve preparing requests that include details and justification for using outside sources for projects and also utilizing the pre-approved contractor list as appropriate.

This role requires onsite work 5 days/week at our Birmingham AL location. Working Hours for this role are Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm. This role may require overtime.

What Youll do as a Facilities Maintenance Technician

  • Routine cleaning of facilities and grounds to ensure safety and a respectable appearance.
  • Move furniture and fixtures as required. Set up and take down equipment for locks from fixtures.
  • Conduct periodic facility inspections. This includes check lights and all other areas for needed replacement(s) safety issues preventative maintenance or other improvements.
  • Receive log and provide follow-up on all maintenance requests from other departments. Purchase of inventory of needed supplies and the ability to be on call for alarms and emergency call outs.
  • Responsibilities will also be greater when Maintenance Supervisor is off-site or on vacation.
  • Perform as needed repairs on minor electrical equipment. Perform carpentry electrical mechanical and painting tasks as required.
  • Perform and document routine periodic inspections for safety emergency lighting fire extinguishers and other equipment.
  • Operate various motor equipment.
  • Work in a team work environment and communicate in a professional manner.
  • Ability to manage various tasks in a defined period of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Experience Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 - 5 years of basic maintenance experience such as plumbing carpentry and electrical repairs.
  • Strong organizational troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to drive corporate vehicles.
  • Knowledge and use of handheld tools.

Other:

  • Analyze problems with facility/systems and consult with supervisor on solution.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Knowledge and practice of working in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work with various contractors and supervise if needed.

Pay range for this opportunity is $21.35/hr - $26.37.This position is eligible forbonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors including but not limited to local labor market costs years of relevant experience education professional certifications foreign language fluency etc.
