This Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor role is located in Marietta OH within our dynamic and innovative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our division is dedicated to developing world-class solutions that impact global health and safety.

Discover Impactful Work:

The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor provides leadership and technical direction to a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to ensure product quality process efficiency and operational excellence. This role partners closely with production quality and maintenance teams to identify and implement process improvements reduce waste optimize equipment utilization and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

A day in the Life:

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise mentor and cultivate a group of engineers and technicians guaranteeing alignment with site objectives and performance measures.
• Promote a culture of safety quality and continuous improvement consistent with Thermo Fishers 4-I values: Integrity Intensity Innovation and Involvement.

Operational & Technical Excellence

• Lead the evaluation design and implementation of manufacturing processes procedures and equipment to optimize production performance.
• Oversee troubleshooting and technical support on the shop floor to resolve issues impacting throughput yield or quality.
• Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions process flow diagrams and validation records.
• Manage and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production readiness.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive lean manufacturing and PPI (Practical Process Improvement) initiatives to reduce cycle time improve quality and eliminate waste.
• Identify and justify capital investments that improve efficiency or product quality.

Education

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Industrial or related Engineering field.

Experience

• 5 years of progressive engineering experience in a production setting with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement equipment qualification and production support.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

• Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication welding and assembly processes.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing different projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Candidates must work in a manufacturing setting stand for long periods lift up to 35 pounds and follow safety rules.
