We are looking for a Middle Java Engineer to join our DevEco team which is part of our Engineering this role you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our API gateway platform that supports other teams in their API delivery process working collaboratively with senior developers and cross-functional teams.

You will work with the engineering manager senior developers and QA team to deliver robust API solutions. Keywords: API Gateway Java Gitlab CI Postman Agility.

Requirements:

Essential:

• 3 years of professional Java development experience

• Good understanding of API Gateway technologies and microservices concepts

• Experience with Git GitLab CI/CD pipelines and basic DevOps practices

• Working knowledge of database technologies particularly PostgreSQL

• Familiarity with API design principles RESTful services and API testing tools (Postman)

• Understanding of agile development methodologies

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively

• Good communication skills and willingness to learn

Nice to Have:

• Experience with or frameworks

• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP)

• Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker)

• Understanding of API security principles

• Experience with monitoring tools

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain features for our API gateway platform

• Write clean maintainable code following established best practices

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing

• Collaborate with senior developers and learn from their expertise

• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver API solutions

• Use Jira for project management and track progress on assigned tasks

• Work with PostgreSQL databases to implement data access layers

• Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests

• Contribute to technical documentation

• Participate in team ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives
