Position	:	Patient Care Assistant II
Rank	:	Patient Care Assistant II
Cluster/ Hospital/ Department	:	Hong Kong West Cluster / Tung Wah Hospital / Department of Surgery
Pay	:	HK$19764 - $24701 per month Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1.	Perform patient monitoring and care before during and after operating procedures.
2.	Provide various supporting services in Operating and Theatre Sterile Supply Unit.
3.	Assist nurse and doctor to prepare and after care of patient for clinical procedures: such as patient positioning and table accessories installation.
4.	Prepare issue and handle surgical instruments endoscopes equipment and related items for operating procedures.
5.	Use of Surgical Instrument Tracing System (SITS) for instrument and endoscope management including issue operation picking list and stock checking on its expiry date and condition.
6.	Perform checking counting cleansing disinfection and assembling instrument before and after procedures.
7.	Perform regular checking and replenishing of equipment stock instrument consumables and ordering
8.	Perform environmental cleansing handling clinical waste chemical waste domestic waste and patient excreta.
9.	Perform specimen and patient transportation.
10.	Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Entry Requirements:

1.	Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent (See Remarks).
2.	Completion of structured departmental training (see Remarks); and
3.	Good command of English and Chinese written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure:

1.	Holding of certificate of Health Care Assistant / Care-related Support Worker. (See Remarks)
2.	Post-secondary education or holding diplomas / certificates from recognized technical or tertiary institutions or technical institute in a relevant discipline.
3.	Good communication skill.
4.	Fluency in Putonghua.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2) if find suitable will be employed to undergo at least 6 months structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by Hospital Authority are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level and eligible to apply for this post.
