The Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior IT Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis business intelligence and a passion for turning data into actionable insights. They will work closely with departments to support data-driven decision-making and optimize business processes. They will support Xylem key initiatives enabling teams to make data-driven decisions that drive company strategy; work with business project teams to understand their data needs and partner with IT to identify how to acquire the data; plan for and lead UAT for each data project; communicate regularly with business stakeholders on project status (in partnership with PMO); and ensure proper change management.
Core Responsibilities:
Work with the business to understand data analytics needs gather and document requirements create detailed functional design documents and map data fields across systems.
Meet with business partners to identify gaps in data or analytics required for key decisions collaborate with IT to close those gaps and develop or enhance data dictionaries KPIs and definitions.
Participate in requirements and issue-resolution meetings; collaborate with cross-functional teams; validate data accuracy and integrity; and support analytics tool and system implementation.
Create project tasks and deliverables load and manage them in Azure DevOps (ADO) prepare UAT scenarios and conduct UAT to ensure delivered solutions meet business needs.
Be hands-on in reviewing data sets to identify insights build strong business relationships create communication plans and support programs with clear data and insight channels.
Excel in a fast-paced unstructured environment; apply Lean problem-solving; adapt to change; and act as a change-management champion as modern platforms are deployed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business or related field and/or 57 years experience in a data analyst role.
Ability to work hands-on with data to extract insights validate results and support data-driven decisions.
Strong analytical documentation communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in global cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate or lead multiple projects manage priorities and interact effectively with users of varying technical understanding; Project and product management experience; Business Analyst experience.
Experience in business analysis within ERP environments; SAP experience preferred; proficiency in Power BI and familiarity with Azure DevOps.
Proven ability to create presentations support change management and contribute to scalable data and analytics practices.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Day in the Life:
This role is generally performed in an office setting and may be performed remotely. Physical demands include moving around an office environment frequent communication close vision and the ability to operate office equipment. Travel up to 10%.
