Children Disability Network Team (CDNT) - Community Healthcare Monaghan.
A Panel will be formed as a result of this campaign for Speech and Language Therapist Senior - Childrens Disability Network Team in CH Cavan Monaghan from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Organisational Context
Purpose of the Post
To be responsible for the provision of a high quality Speech and Language Therapist service in accordance with standards of professional practice.
To work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation.
Details of Service
The Children Disability Network Team Services provides support and input to children and young people from age 0 to 18 who have complex needs associated with disabilities. Input and support will be through a Multidisciplinary Team approach underpinned by Family Centred Practice and Individual Family Service Planning.
The Team includes Psychologists Occupational Therapists Speech and Language Therapists Physiotherapists Social Workers Administrators Community Nurse Dietitian and Pre-School Liaison teacher.
It is an exciting time to join the Childrens Disabilities Services as we move forward with the reconfiguration of existing services in line with the National Policy of Progressing Disability Services. Within this planned change many new opportunities will be presented to support the progression and development of the service.
Essential Criteria
Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/ or experience
1. Statutory Registration Professional Qualifications Experience etc.
Candidates for appointment must:
(i) Be registered or be eligible for registration as a Speech & Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
And
(ii) Have 3 years full time (or aggregate of 3 years full time) post qualification clinical experience.
And
(iii) Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
And
(iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapist Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
2. Annual registration
(i) On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
And
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
3. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
4. Character
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character

Ability to assess and manage communication and feeding eating drinking and swallowing disorders as it applies to the post in the Childrens Disability Network
Dysphagia Qualification
Speech & Language Therapists who work with people with feeding eating drinking and swallowing difficulties must hold a dysphagia qualification or equivalent as outlined in Standards of Practice for Speech & Language Therapists on the Management of Feeding Eating Drinking and Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia) Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists (IASLT) 2007.
Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience as relevant to the role within the Childrens Disability Network Team
